GPRC hires new women’s volleyball coach

The Grande Prairie Regional College Wolves women’s volleyball team has a new addition to its coaching staff. Lauren Hale-Miller has been hired as the team’s head coach.

After spending the last three years coaching the University of New Brunswick Saint John Seawolves, Hale-Miller says she’s excited to teach a new group of athletes.

“I love coaching because I love that ‘aha!’ moment athletes experience once they’ve perfected a skill and the determination they show to then go off and conquer the next one. It really drives me as a coach to continue to help athletes reach those moments.”

Hale-Miller has completed her Advanced Development Coach certification from the National Coaching Certification Program and is on her way to finishing her Performance Coach certification. She says she’s excited to get to work.

“If anything this season, I want to instill in the players the importance of commitment and dedication. It’s important to always have the expectations rising as something the players want. They should always want to be challenging themselves and raising their own bars. I’m excited to get started.”

The Wolves season starts on October 18th and 19th versus the Keyano College Huskies.
