UPDATE: Man sentenced to six months in jail after drugs, weapons found in Grande Prairie home

UPDATE: On November 25th, Haugen was sentenced in Grande Prairie to six months in jail but was released for time served for possession of stolen property. He was also given 18 months probation. The other charges against him were withdrawn.

A Grande Prairie man is facing charges after drugs, weapons and stolen property were allegedly found in a home in the city. On May 10th at 6:00 p.m., the Grande Prairie RCMP Crime Reduction Unit executed a search warrant after linking a possible stolen vehicle to the home.

While there, officers say they found around 32 grams of meth, 10 fentanyl pills, 1.5 grams of fentanyl, eight grams of cocaine, two license plates, a stolen vehicle, two guns and some other weapons.

35-year-old Shane Anthony Haugen is facing numerous charges including possession of stolen property, possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes and unsafe storage of a firearm.

Haugen remains in custody and scheduled to appear at Grande Prairie Provincial Court on May 13, 2019.
