A fire advisory has now been issued for the Municipal District of Greenview. Due to dry and windy conditions, all current fire permits have been suspended and no new ones will be issued.
Burn barrels and ceremonial burning are still allowed at this time, along with safe cooking and warming fires. Those include wood campfires, charcoal, propane fire pits, and gas or propane stoves and barbecues.
The MD is asking residents to check on previous burn sites to make sure they are fully out. People using ATVs are also reminded to be careful when riding in dry, grassy areas.
Fire advisories are also in place in the Grande Prairie Forest Area and the County of Grande Prairie.
