Richard and Wendy Saban

December’s Dirham Homes Community Builder of the Month is not one person, but two: Richard and Wendy Saban. Richard has volunteered with the Grande Prairie & District Burn Society and the Bezanson Burn Society for more than 20 years. He is also the chaplain for the Grande Prairie RCMP and City and County Fire Departments. Wendy volunteers for Grande Prairie & District Victim Services, and travels to places like Fort McMurray and High River during emergencies. Together, the Sabans help local emergency services with notifying next of kin. If an officer can’t stay to help support the family, they’re there to take on the heavy conversation. If they get a call in the middle of the night that someone’s house has burned down or someone has passed away, they jump out of bed to help families find a place to stay, as well as clothes and food and whatever else is needed. Thank you Richard and Wendy for helping the community so selflessly!
