New Year’s mugging leaves victim injured

RCMP are still looking for the suspect in a violent mugging early New Year’s Day. Officers responded to the QEII Hospital around 4:45 a.m. on January 1st after a man came in with injuries to his abdomen.

The 22 year old said he was walking in the 9800 block of 94th Avenue when a man told him to give over his wallet. There was a fight and the victim was hurt. The suspect ran off towards 100th Street.

The man is described as 5’10 with a medium skin tone and an East coast accent. He was wearing a black hoodie or jacket and black pants.

Anyone with information that could help police identify the mugger is asked to contact the detachment or Crime Stoppers.
