Team Gushue wins Elite 10 final

It came down to a shootout, but Beaverlodge’s Geoff Walker and Team Brad Gushue won the Grand Slam of Curling Elite 10 Sunday in Victoria. The final was a rematch of the National final in November, and again, Gushue came out on top of Reid Carruthers.

The win came just a week after the rink lost the Brier title in the gold medal game. On his way to Victoria, Walker said they needed to leave that loss behind them and it clearly worked, as the men posted a perfect 6-0 record in the Elite 10 to earn $27,500.

It’s the team’s fourth Pinty’s title in the past two years.
