City of GP’s New Year’s Eve-ning Out invites residents to welcome in 2025 with their community

If you’ve yet to make any plans to celebrate the new year, the City of Grande Prairie is reminding residents they are invited to attend the annual New Year’s Eve-ning Out on December 31st.

This year’s event is scheduled from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at Muskoseepi Park, and Grande Prairie Mayor Jackie Clayton says the city is looking forward to upholding the tradition for another year.

“We’re proud to make all activities at the New Year’s Eve-ning Out event completely free to attend and participate in,” she says.

As the Mayor indicates, the event is free for all, and will include numerous activities including horse and wagon rides until 9:00 p.m., a skating party with lights and a DJ on Muskoseepi Pond, and snowshoeing with free rentals. Also returning for another year, fire dancers from Dream Dance Circus will perform from 10:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Throughout the celebration, local artists will be performing live music, hot chocolate, apple cider, and coffee will be made available, along with children’s activities such as crafts, face painting, and colouring.

The event will wrap up with fireworks setting off over the Muskoseepi Park reservoir at 10:30 p.m.
