Nominations now open for 2025 Passionate Heart Awards

The Family and Community Support Services teams from the City and County of Grande Prairie, along with the towns of Beaverlodge, Sexsmith, and Wembley have announced the call for nominations for the Passionate Heart Awards.

The annual event aims to spotlight the contributions of individuals, teams, and businesses who have remained committed to improving the lives of their fellow community members.

2024 award categories include the Exceptional Service Award for front-line staff who have two or more years of experience in policing, child and family services, youth services, social services, or education.

Three other categories are up for grabs, including the Exceptional Team Award, Business Award, and the Chris Henderson Lifetime Service Award for individuals with 10 or more years of service in the social sector.

The County of Grande Prairie’s Child Youth and Family Program Supervisor Amy Easterbrook says the awards are significant as they shine a spotlight on those who may otherwise go unnoticed.

Our region is filled with individuals and teams who go above and beyond to support others and strengthen our community,” she says. “These awards provide a chance to highlight and celebrate their remarkable efforts, which often go unseen but have a lasting impact.”

The deadline to submit is January 17th, 2025.

The awards will be presented during the Passionate Heart Celebration on February 14th, at 11:30 a.m. at the Bonnetts Energy Centre. Tickets for the luncheon are $30 and can be purchased at the Bonnetts Energy Centre’s website starting December 8th.
