County of Grande Prairie road construction project results in some detours and delays

County of Grande Prairie residents are being advised of a road construction project that will result in some detours and delays for drivers.

Construction on Range Road 53, 750 metres north of Township Road 714 to the city limit began in September of this year and is expected to continue until the end of November.

As a result, traffic on Range Road 53 will be restricted to local traffic only for the remainder of the project.

Traffic can detour using Range Road 54 to the west or Range Road 52 to the east. Drivers are asked to obey all posted signage and flaggers, and exercise “extreme caution” when travelling through the sites and near crews by allowing for extra travel time.

The county maintains access to the Harry Balfour School from Township Road 714 remains available.
