Tammy Brown running for vacant Grande Prairie city council seat

Grande Prairie byelection council candidate Tammy Brown says she is running to become a decision maker as she believes she has all the tools to help take Grande Prairie to even greater heights.

Brown, who has spent the past decade on various boards and committees across the city, including the City of Grande Prairie Advisory Committee, and the Grande Prairie Public Library Board, says while she was unsuccessful in her run for council in 2021, she believes her drive to help bolster Grande Prairie’s economic impact would be a tremendous asset around the table.

“The continued work in economic development, creating jobs and opportunities in our community is really big,” she says.

“The revitalization of Grande Prairie is really, probably one of the top things we should be looking at right now, to continue growth and prosperity here within this community,”

Brown says if she is successful in gaining the public’s confidence, it’s still a big job to fill the shoes of former councillor John Lehners, who passed away earlier this year.

“John brought a lot of wisdom to the city, and I will continue to strive to do that, and to deliver good work as a councillor in Grande Prairie,” she says.

The 2022 Grande Prairie council byelection is set for October 17th.
