Grimshaw emergency department closed overnight until September 15th

Overnight medical emergencies in the Grimshaw and Berwyn area will be redirected to other healthcare facilities for the next week.

Alberta Health Services says the emergency department at the Grimshaw/Berwyn & District Health Centre will be closed from 7 p.m. until 7 a.m. every night from September 7th to 15th. It will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.

“This is a temporary measure and AHS is working hard to ensure local residents continue to have access to the care they need,” says a press release from AHS. “We are thankful for the support of surrounding healthcare centres and medical staff and would like to thank the community for their understanding.”

During that time, the public is asked to call 9-1-1 if they have a medical emergency. EMS calls will be rerouted to alternate healthcare sites.
