Grande Prairie falls in Canada’s Best Places to Live rankings

Grande Prairie has seen a major drop in the rankings of Canada’s Best Places to Live. It fell to 107th from 51st in the MoneySense survey. It sat in 87th in 2013.

The magazine complies the list every year, measuring how great a city is to live in by stats like weather, wealth, and crime severity. Everything from unemployment rates, property pax, and participation in arts and culture are compiled.

Grande Prairie’s statistics show a fast growing population, with a low number of doctors and high crime rate. The Quebec suburb of Boucherville topped the list this year, while 2014’s winner St. Albert dropped to fourth.
