It’s Josh with the 2day FM Summer Cruiser, powered by Standard Auto Glass, supported by the Canadian Motorcycle Tourism Association, Frontier Eatery & Saloon, Eastlink Mobile, and Ken Sargent GMC Buick.
I started out my week at the Market in Hillside. This market happens every Thursday from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. until the last Thursday in September. It’s always a pleasure going out to see the beautiful gardens.
After admiring the beauty the garden had to offer I made my way to Safety City where they had their pedal bike drop-in. Safety City is a place for kids and the young at heart to learn proper bike safety. This was the last drop-in of the summer, I can’t believe summer is almost over.
August 27th was a busy day for me. I first went to the Dave Rempel Hero WOD. It was amazing to see all the people who showed up to this morning’s event. Dave had a stroke in the middle of the Cross-fit Games. After making a speedy recovery he is on his way to making it to the next Cross-fit Games.
My second event for the day was the Renegades Market. This local market is a great way to meet small businesses and artists who love what they do. I was delighted to be there and make some new friends.
My third event that day was the community celebration planned for the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital. This was to celebrate all the dedication and hard work that went into the making of the hospital.
My fourth and final event for that day was Experience Grande Prairie. This event was all about experiencing the downtown core for free. There was live entertainment and lots of games for the kids. This was a great event to see how great Grande Prairie actually is.
To end my week August 29th had three events in one. Out at Evergreen Park, not only did they have the horse races, they had Mr. Mike’s Paint the Park Purple and the Dino Derby. It was so much fun to see all the dinosaurs walking around while everyone was wearing purple to support efforts against pancreatic cancer. Later on in the day the dinos had a race on the track. It was definitely the highlight of the day.
