New PWPSD Wellness Coach hoping to increase mental health awareness

As students in the Peace Wapiti Public School Division return to classes this fall, they’ll have access to an additional mental health resource. The school division has hired another wellness coach, using a grant from the province’s Mental Health Capacity Building in Schools Initiative.

Danielle Vavrek will work with students and staff throughout the entire division, saying she is excited to help increase mental health awareness, while making a positive impact. She grew up in the Grande Prairie area and completed her Bachelor of Science in Honours Psychology at the University of Alberta in the spring of 2021.
