Locals place well at Grande Prairie Stompede

Grande Prairie’s Rick Fraser claimed a third place finish in the first World Pro Chuckwagon Association event of the year.

The Grande Prairie Stompede also saw Kirk and Kelly Sutherland finish 9th and 10th, followed by Chanse and Mike Vigen, who finished 17th and 29th respectively, and Mark and Mitch Sutherland who claimed 31st and 32nd in the standings. The 2015 Grande Prairie Stompede Championship went to Obrey Motowylo of Bluffton, Alberta. Motowylo took home the $25,000 first place winner’s cheque and a new GMC Sierra Pickup Truck.

On the rodeo side of things Fairview’s Clay Madson took third place in the Novice Saddle Bronc event while Dustin Shaver of Crooked Creek finished first in Novice Bareback.
