High speed internet coming to more rural Peace communities

The federal government has announced improved access to high speed internet for more than 5,000 homes around the Peace Country. This is part of a plan to connect 280,000 homes in rural and remote regions across Canada to high speed internet, much of which is expected to be finished by July 1st, 2017.

The government is partnering with internet service providers to build the infrastructure needed to bring high speed internet to those Canadians living further away from urban centres. A survey filled out by Canadians last summer helped determine areas of highest need, which in turn helped narrow down the homes that will be benefiting from the infrastructure upgrades.
