It’s Josh with the 2day FM Summer Cruiser, powered by Standard Auto Glass, supported by the Canadian Motorcycle Tourism Association, Frontier Eatery & Saloon, Eastlink Mobile, and Ken Sargent GMC Buick.
On August 18th I started my day in the Market in Hillside, This market happens every Thursday until the last week in September. It starts at 11 a.m. and goes until 8 p.m. I am always excited to see Crystal who works at the Frontier Outpost in the Veterans Memorial Gardens. What a nice way to start the day.
After hanging out at the gardens I made my way to the A&W westside location where it was Burgers to Beat MS Day. For every teen burger that was purchased that day $2 went to help support Canadians with MS. This event had a lot of cars there for the show & shine. As I enjoyed a Beyond Meat burger, I walked around looking at all the amazing cars.
August 19th was the Community Agency and Family Fun Day Fair. It took place in Muskoseepi Park at the amphitheatre. This event was a great way to get information about mental health, family support, and youth support. There were so many activities for kids and door prizes for adults. Also, I could not forget the free BBQ.
After I made my way around saying hello to everyone it was time for my next stop, and I was off to the farmers’ market. The farmers’ market is such a fun place to go. Not only do you meet a bunch of awesome people but you get to help them succeed in their small business. The farmers’ market is a great way to get to know the local community.
Speaking about the farmers’ market, on August 20th I just had to go back to see their Summer in the Street event. From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. they close down the street by the farmers’ market to have food trucks and more vendors set up outside. It’s like a farmers’ market within a farmers’ market. They have live entertainment and lots of smiles out on the street.
The next stop was the Debolt Fair. This was my first time in Debolt and what a lovely small community. Everyone gathered on main street to celebrate the fair. They had games, rides, and music. It was a wonderful time and it was great to see all the kids having fun.
On August 21st, I jumped into the cruiser and headed to Evergreen Park for the horse races. I always enjoy the horse races at Evergreen. While I was there I ran into a few of my friends. When you work the summer cruiser at 2DayFM you make a lot of friends!
I could not end my week without going to the circus. The American Crown Circus & Circo Osorio was in town and WOW, what an amazing performance! If you missed out on this you have to plan to go next year. The performances were amazing; I wished they could last forever.
