Another Peace Country emergency room will be closed overnight. Alberta Health Services says the emergency at the Grimshaw/Berwyn & District Health Centre will be temporarily closed from 7 p.m. Monday until 7 a.m. Tuesday morning.
During that time, patients are asked to call 9-1-1 in an emergency and 8-1-1 for non-emergency medical matters. EMS calls will be rerouted to other facilities in Peace River, Fairview, Manning, McLennan, and Spirit River.
Emergency room closures have plagued rural hospitals in the region over the past several months, including the Beaverlodge Hospital multiple days last week.
