County of Grande Prairie swimmer picks up bronze medal at Canada Summer Games

A Grande Prairie Piranhas swimmer is bringing some hardware back to the Peace Country after picking up a bronze medal at the 2022 Canada Summer Games.

Marissa Laurin took home the bronze medal during the 200 metre backstroke on Wednesday, becoming the first local athlete to reach the podium from the national amateur games this year. Including Laurin’s bronze, Team Alberta picked up a total of 9 medals during Wednesday’s competition.
