Beaverlodge emergency department without doctor for another night

The physician shortage at the Beaverlodge Municipal Hospital’s emergency department continues. Alberta Health Services says the facility will go another night without a physician in the ED.

There will be no coverage from 9 p.m. Wednesday to 8 a.m. Thursday. Similarly, it went without Monday night and Tuesday night.

During this time, nurses will be available to provide triage and assessments. EMS will be rerouted to the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital or the Central Peace Health Complex in Spirit River.

“We are thankful for the support of surrounding healthcare centres and medical staff and would like to thank the community for its patience and understanding during this time,” a press release from Alberta Health Services reads.
