UPDATE: Beaverlodge Municipal Hospital to be without emergency department physician until Wednesday morning

UPDATE: Following two days of sporadic emergency department coverage, Alberta Health Services says due to an unexpected inability to secure physician coverage, the Emergency Department at the Beaverlodge Municipal Hospital will be without on-site physician coverage until 8 a.m. Wednesday, August 10th.

AHS is working to ensure residents continue to have access to the care they need during this time. Physician coverage in the Emergency Department will resume Wednesday, Aug. 10 at 8 a.m.

The Emergency Department at the Beaverlodge Municipal Hospital is experiencing a physician shortage. There will be no doctor available until 8 a.m. tomorrow (Tuesday, Aug. 9) and again for 12 hours from 8 p.m. Tuesday to 8 a.m. Wednesday.

Alberta Health Services say they are working to ensure residents continue to have access to the care they need during this time. Twenty-four-hour physician coverage in the Emergency Department will resume Wednesday, Aug. 10 at 8 a.m. The organization adds that this is a temporary measure and AHS is working hard to ensure residents continue to have access to the care they need during this time.
