Community invited to ‘Experience’ Grande Prairie

The city is introducing a new event called “Experience Grande Prairie” to celebrate different projects and places in the community.

Each day of the event takes place at different times and on streets in downtown Grande Prairie on Friday, August 26 and Saturday, August 27.

This year the event focuses on Grande Prairie’s City Centre, allowing residents to visit and explore downtown while attending the fun and free event.

Experience Grande Prairie kicks off with adult-focused entertainment and activities on Friday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. The event is being held on 101 Avenue (between 100 Street and 101 Street) and on 101 Street (between 101 Avenue and 100 Avenue). Various activities are available for eventgoers including live music, beer gardens, an art walk showcasing historical photos of downtown and a scavenger hunt.

The event shifts to a family focus on Saturday with events running from noon to 5 p.m.
Family-friendly activities are happening on 100 Avenue (between 100 Street and 102 Street) and on 101 Street (between 101 Avenue and 100 Avenue). Activities on include live entertainment, wagon rides, kids’ zone with bouncy castles and a scavenger hunt.
