County of Grande Prairie lifts fire advisory

The County of Grande Prairie has lifted the fire advisory for the entire region, including the towns of Beaverlodge, Sexsmith and Wembley.

Regional fire officials say they were able to lift the advisory, which has been in place since July 27th, due to cooler temperatures and recent rainfall.

Residents are being reminded that permits are required during the fire season, and regardless of permit status, burning is not permitted when winds reach, or are forecasted to reach, 12 km per hour or higher.
