A light earthquake has been recorded south of Grande Prairie. Earthquakes Canada says the 3.5 magnitude quake hit at 9:16 a.m. on Friday July 22nd.
The earthquake epicentre was located 97 kilometres of Grande Prairie, west of Highway 40. It was recorded at a depth of 10 kilometres. It’s the second recorded quake in the region this year, with a 4.2 earthquake also reported near Grande Cache in February.
