Nature-inspired Maskwôtêh Park under construction

Construction is starting up again on an extension to Muskoseepi Park. Maskwôtêh Park is located across from Centre 2000 on the bypass, and is considered a nature inspired play area, named after the Cree word for “bear heart”.

The first phase of the project included extending the Muskoseepi trails, landscaping and land preparation. Now the city will be building an outdoor classroom, a dinosaur fossil site, and an area with rocks, rope bridges, and a T-Rex skeleton. The area will also have a picnic and seating area.

In total, the project has a $300,000 budget, and has financial support from Grande Prairie’s Rotary Clubs. Work should be done by the end of June.
