Alberta wildfire update

There are two fires currently burning out of control in the province and a third that is being held in the Grande Prairie Wildfire Management Area.

That fire is north of Debolt near Highway 736. It’s currently at 0.02 hectares.

Elsewhere, there is a fire burning out of control near Lodgepole, about 35 kilometres southwest of Drayton Valley, covering about 700 hectares.

A second fire is burning 66 hectares out of control northeast of Fort Vermillion. The Wildfire hazard level in our region is currently listed as very high due to dry, windy conditions.

Meanwhile across the border a fire is burning about 8000 hectares near Prince George, BC.
