Regional Enforcement stresses importance of securing loads

County Regional Enforcement Services was able to stop and check more than 1,400 vehicles during its annual load securement checks. Just like last year, only one ticket was handed out for an unsecured load with 14 warnings.

County Environment Manager Steve Madden stresses that without proper attention, litter can end up in the natural environment and water, and can lead to accidents.

42 other tickets and 63 warnings were issued for other offences like speeding, distracted driving, and not wearing a seatbelt. There were also 38 criminal offences found, including a stolen vehicle, prohibited firearms and weapons, illegal narcotics and stolen property.
