Local students representing at provincial Skills Canada competition

Students from several local high schools are in Edmonton today and tomorrow for the 2015 provincial Skills Canada competition.

There are 19 students from Grande Prairie and the surrounding county. They are representing the Grande Prairie Composite High School, Charles Spencer High School, St. Joseph Catholic High School, Peace Wapiti Academy, and the Beaverlodge Regional High School

They are competing in everything from Culinary Arts, Cabinet Making, Graphic Design, Hairstyling, and Workplace Safety.

They earned their spot at provincials after finishing with gold or silver medals at the North West Regional Skills Canada competition in April. Over the two days students must complete an assigned project in their field.
