GPCSD expanding Kindergarten+ program

After what officials at the Grande Prairie and District Catholic Schools are calling a successful launch, the all-day Kindergarten+ program is being added to another school in the region.

Holy Cross will now join École St-Gérard, Mother Teresa, St. Catherine, and St. Mary’s in Sexsmith in offering the fullday program to students in the area.

When the pilot was launched in February 2021, former Superintendent Karl Germann suggested that the program will help guide a child’s growth and development and will complement and enrich the instruction that children receive in their regular classes.

Demand, according to the school district, for program continued to increase over the last 12 months, and the belief is the addition of Holy Cross to the program list will help provide families the chance to participate if they choose.
