41 new COVID-19 cases reported in City of Grande Prairie

41 new and 22 recovered cases of COVID-19 were reported in the City of Grande Prairie on Monday. There are now 446 active cases of the virus in the municipality.

In the County of Grande Prairie, 15 new and 10 recovered cases of the virus were also identified over the last 24 hours, for a new active case total of 165.

Province-wide, 1,980 new cases of the virus were discovered on Monday from 5,012 tests for a positivity rate of 40 per cent. Across Alberta, 1,585 people remain in hospital due to COVID-19, with 109 requiring the ICU.

The data released by the province of Alberta does not include rapid test results, with PCR testing focusing primarily on individuals who may be at higher risk of severe COVID-19 outcomes, or those who work in high-risk settings.
