County campgrounds open tomorrow

Campgrounds and parks around the County of Grande Prairie are officially open to the public as of Wednesday. Campgrounds traditionally open to the public for May long weekend.

Those opening tomorrow for early bird campers include the Pipestone Creek, Bear Lake, Demmit, Hommy, and Kleskun Hill campgrounds. The Old Bezanson Townsite, Valhalla Park, Red Willow, and Saskatoon Mountain day use areas will open tomorrow as well.

Several of them have been upgraded in the last year or so with new playgrounds or sani-dump stations. If you’d like information on fees or availability of sites, you can contact the county’s Parks and Recreation department at 780-532-9727.
