Special weather statement issued for Grande Prairie

Just in case you were getting disappointed with a lack of snowfall, Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the Grande Prairie region.

The national meteorological service says it was issued due to an area of snow and strong winds that are expected to develop in the region, with anywhere between 5 to 10 centimetres of snow expected to fall.

Strong northwest winds gusting up to 80 km/h will also develop Sunday night. In combination with the freshly fallen snow, low visibilities in blowing snow can be expected.
