Fire advisory issued for County of Grande Prairie

A fire advisory has been issued for the entire County of Grande Prairie. Fire Marshal Ken Atamanchuk says the wildfire hazard has risen to high, due to warm and dry conditions.

Anyone with a burn permit is asked not to burn during this time, and no new permits will be issued until further notice.

There’s only one wildfire currently burning in the Grande Prairie Wildfire Management area. The blaze in O’Brien Park is less than a hectare big and is listed as under control.

So far this season there have been 13 wildfires burning less than 13 hectares of land in our region.
