57th COVID-19 death reported in Grande Prairie

A 57th COVID-19 death has been reported in the City of Grande Prairie. According to Alberta Health, the deceased is a man in his 50s, and the case had no pre-existing conditions.

40 new and 38 recovered cases of the virus were discovered in the municipality on Thursday, for a new active case total of 363. Meanwhile, 12 recovered and 9 new cases of the virus were also reported in the County of Grande Prairie over the last 24 hours. 99 active cases remain in the region.

Across Alberta, 3,592 new cases were identified on Thursday from 10,572 tests for a positivity rate of 33.9 per cent. 1,191 people remain in hospital due to COVID-19, with 107 requiring the ICU.
