42 recovered and 35 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the City of Grande Prairie on Wednesday. There are now 362 active cases of the virus in the municipality.
In the County of Grande Prairie, 12 new and nine recovered cases of COVID-19 were also identified over the last 24 hours. 102 active cases remain in the region. Across Alberta, 3,527 new cases were discovered on Wednesday from 11,041 tests for a positivity rate of 33 per cent. Province-wide, 1,131 people are in hospital due to COVID-19, with 108 requiring the ICU.
The data released by the province of Alberta does not include rapid test results, with PCR testing focusing primarily on individuals who may be at higher risk of severe COVID-19 outcomes, or those who work in high-risk settings.
