UPDATE: One arrested following alleged firearm incident in Peace River

Update

One person has been arrested after allegedly pointing a firearm at two others in Peace River on Thursday afternoon. The Peace Regional RCMP say they responded to a call at a home near 103 Street and 110 Avenue where it is alleged a firearm was pointed at two victims. Authorities say the victims left the area and no one was injured.

One person, an unidentified adult man was taken into custody as a result. Peace Regional RCMP would like to thank the public who sheltered in place until this situation was resolved.

Peace River residents near 103 Street and 110 Avenue are being asked to shelter in as the Peace Regional RCMP are responding to what they’re only describing as an ‘incident’.

There is a heavy police presence surrounding a home in the area and authorities will remain in the area until further notice. RCMP are also asking the public to refrain from posting photos and video on social media.
