One person is dead after a fatal house fire in Spirit River. RCMP responded to a report of the fire in the area of 45 Avenue and 49 Street around midnight on January 19th. After the fire was put out, RCMP found one person dead inside the home.
Spirit River RCMP, alongside the Office of the Fire Commissioner and Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, continue their investigation.
The cause of the fire remains unknown at this time. The person who died inside the home has been conditionally identified, but the confirmation of their identity and cause of death will be revealed at a later date at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Edmonton.
