Richmond Dry Cleaners donates nearly $1,700 to PARDS

Richmond Dry Cleaners General Manager Don Murray met with PARDS Community Engagement Coordinator Liz Rintamaki to present a donation of $1,682 and change on January 17th.

“We’ve been donating to PARDS for the last eight years, or possibly more. It’s a wonderful organization and I feel every little bit helps.”

Rintamaki was all smiles, from the moment she heard about the donation in Murray’s office.

“I am on the top of the moon. Don steps up to the plate every year and does his portion to help us out. I think it’s extraordinary, especially nowadays with all the COVID-19 restrictions. My gratitude to Don goes above and beyond, thank you so much.”

PARDS also has an ongoing raffle to try and raise funds for a BEMER therapy blanket for their horses. Rintamaki says things are moving in the right direction.

“Everything is going really well right now and there are so many programs we have coming up,” she explains. “The Dine and Dance, and our newly forecasted Carnivale, where kids come out and play some games, and do some horseback riding. There’s quite a bit going on right now.”

Murray says he’s grateful to be part of such a giving and caring community in Grande Prairie.

“It’s a big town, it really is. You can drive by somebody and you’re still waving at them, almost all the time.”

Rintamaki says there are no specific plans for the donation as of yet, but she’s always grateful for the support of the community.
