Fairview Health Complex emergency department to go without doctor overnight

There will be no doctor overnight in the Fairview Heath Complex emergency department from January 14th at 3 p.m. until January 15th at 7 a.m.

Nursing staff will remain on-site to provide triage and assessments. EMS calls will be re-routed to surrounding facilities, including the Grimshaw/Berwyn and District Community Health Centre, the Central Peace Health Complex in Spirit River, and the Peace River Community Health Centre.

Alberta Health Services says patients seeking care at the emergency department in Fairview may also be made aware of services available through local pharmacies, depending on their needs.

Residents can call 8-1-1 at any time, for non-emergency, health-related questions.
