Campers across the County of Grande Prairie can book their place at Pipestone Creek Campground online starting Saturday. County of Grande Prairie officials say the move to online puts the region in line with provincial and national park campgrounds, making stays more accessible and stress-free for visitors.
Parks and Recreation Director Christine Rawlins says they saw an opportunity to test online reservations at county campgrounds and believe it will help to create a more stress-free experience.
“With simple and low-cost recreation opportunities for families that are close to home being more popular than ever, we are excited to welcome even more campers to the County this year,” she adds.
Pipestone Creek will not be the only campground that will be accessible to book online, as a one-year pilot project will also launch later this month for reservations for the Bear Lake, Demmitt, Hommy, and Kleskun Hill campgrounds. The Hythe Municipal Campground will continue to accept online reservations, also available later this month for the 2022 season.
You can find more information about online campsite booking here. Registration for Pipestone Campground opens January 15th.
