Freezing rain warning issued for Grande Prairie region

Freezing rain is expected in the Grande Prairie area. Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning for the Grande Prairie – Beaverlodge – Valleyview region late Wednesday night.

It says the freezing rain will change to snow by Thursday morning.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.”

The forecast for the City of Grande Prairie is calling for periods of snow or freezing rain to start near midnight with between two and four centimetres of snow expected. That freezing rain or snow should end in the morning then clear.
