Extreme cold warning issued for Grande Prairie

Another extreme cold warning has been issued for the Grande Prairie – Beaverlodge – Valleyview region. Environment Canada says tonight and tomorrow night, extremely cold wind chill values between -40 and -55 are expected throughout much of Alberta.

In Grande Prairie, the forecast for Thursday night is calling for a low of minus 39 with a windchill of minus 48 overnight. Residents are urged to cover up as frostbite can develop within minutes on exposed skin, especially with wind chill.

Additionally, if it is too cold for you outside, you should take the same precautions with your dog and or pets.
