UPDATE: Nitehawk Year-Round Adventure Park Fresh Air on NYE postponed

UPDATE: Due to the extreme cold, the event has been postponed. General Manager Johnathan Clarkson says he would like to try and host the same event on January 7th.

In partnership with 2day FM, Nitehawk Year-Round Adventure Park is hosting Fresh Air, a New Year’s Eve event with family-friendly activities for everyone. General Manager Johnathan Clarkson is excited to be bringing back the event after the COVID-19 pandemic forced them to cancel last year.

“This year we are able to bring it back in a safe format. We will have skiing, snowboarding, and glow-tubing going on for the evening, and we’ll be finishing off the night with fireworks at 9:50 P.M. You can get your tickets online at go nitehawk dot com and we will also have 15 dollar rentals that night,” he says.

Clarkson says that if you’re interested in attending, you should act fast.

“We fully expect this event to sell out and we won’t be accepting walk-in traffic at all. As I mentioned, you can do all of that online on our website,” he says.

Clarkson is feeling optimistic about the weather for New Year’s Eve and hopes the event will go on as planned.

“Our cut-off is when it feels like minus-30, so as long as temperatures stay under that mark, we should be good to go,” he explains. “I also think we’re acclimatized to some pretty cold weather over the last little while, so make sure to dress warm, and with that, you shouldn’t have a problem being outside as long as you keep moving.”

Following the soft-opening of the slopes on the weekend of November 27th, Clarkson says that things have gone well so far, despite extremely cold weather forcing them to close some days.

“We always appreciate the support of the community. We look forward to being able to add more terrain in the coming weeks ahead as we look towards opening the new T-Bar lift at the beginning of February,” he says.

Nitehawk will be open on New Year’s Day from 11 A.M. to 5 P.M. to help make up for some cancellations due to the extreme cold.

Some of the other notable available activities on New Year’s Eve include a Christmas light hiking trail, free apple cider between 7 and 8 P.M. and the Chalet Cafeteria will be open until 10 P.M.

Nitehawk does have AHS COVID-19 protocols in place and also is implementing the Restriction Exemption Program in our Indoor Food Service Spaces only. Masking and or face coverings are required while Tubing and when in line-ups where physical distancing isn’t guaranteed.
