Residential snow removal resumes next week in both City, County of Grande Prairie

Snow removal crews in both the City and County of Grande Prairie will be back into residential areas in the region next week.

In the city, another two-week round of residential snow clearing kicks off on December 27th, with crews starting in the neighbourhoods of Crystal Heights, Crystal Landing, Hillside, Ivy Lake Estates, Mountview, Summit, and VLA/Montrose. They will then move into the Country Club Estates and Countryside area on Tuesday.

A parking ban in the city remains in place on all permanent snow routes from Monday to Friday between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m.

Crews in the county meanwhile will be back at it on Wednesday, December 29th in Whispering Ridge and Westlake Estates before moving onto Clairmont between 100 and 116 Ave. Officials say any leftover windrows in Taylor Estates and Maple Ridge will also be removed.

The county says when it comes to parking restrictions when the digital “No Parking” signs at the entrance to those neighbourhoods are visible and lit up, street parking is not permitted between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.
