Just in case the last round of frigid temperatures wasn’t enough, Environment Canada has issued an extreme cold warning for the region encompassing Grande Prairie, Valleyview, and Beaverlodge.
The national meteorological service says extremely cold wind chill factors will make it feel close to -40 Celsius on Friday and will continue into the evening and overnight.
Officials say if you have to travel outside for any reason, dress warmly and in layers, with the outer layer providing wind resistance.
