The 13th COVID-19 related death has been reported in the County of Grande Prairie. According to Alberta Health Services, it was among five new deaths reported in Alberta on Tuesday.
AHS says there were two deaths reported in the North zone over the past 24 hours, including A woman in her 60s on December 20th and a man in his 40s on December 22nd. Both cases reportedly involved pre-existing conditions.
Two new and one recovered case of COVID-19 were also identified in the county on Tuesday. There are now 35 active cases in the region. In the City of Grande Prairie, three recovered and two new cases of the virus were also discovered over the last 24 hours, for a new active total of 42 cases in the municipality.
Province-wide, 1,346 new cases of COVID-19 were reported on Tuesday from 11,516 tests for a positivity rate of 11.6 per cent. Across Alberta, 326 people remain in hospital due to COVID-19, with 65 requiring the ICU.
