An extreme cold warning has been issued for the entire Peace Region. Environment Canada says extreme wind chill values of -40 to -45 Celcius will affect most northern Alberta tonight, with the wind chill dipping as low as -50 in some spots.
If you can avoid being outside at all costs, please do so. Experts are reminding residents to dress in layers that they can remove if they get too warm, with the outer layer being wind resistant. It’s expected the extreme cold conditions will start to disappear early on the weekend.
