Wildfire hazard reduced to low

While the wet and snowy weather has been a damper on the spring weather our region has been enjoying, it also means the wildfire hazard has been reduced to low. There are currently 6 under control wildfires burning in our province, and none in the Grande Prairie Wildfire Management Area.

To help protect against further wildfire hazard, the County Regional Fire Service is also hosting fire smart wood waste clean up events this month. This Saturday they will be in Woodlake chipping up and disposing of deadfall, tree branches , and wood debris that residents can pick up from their yards. Following that, they will be in Autumn Wood Estates on May 23rd and in Sprucewood Park on May 30th.
