The number of Albertans who voted in advance polls is up 30 per cent, making it the highest early turnout for a provincial election ever.
In Grande Prairie – Smoky, 2,691 people entered their ballots between April 29th to May 2nd. 1,784 did the same in GP – Wapiti. Peace River had the highest turnout of the Peace region ridings, with 2,765 early voters, while Dunvegan-Central-Peace-Notley had the lowest at 1,301.
Province-wide, more than 235,000 people cast a ballot, compared to just under 180,000 in 2012.
