UPDATE: Missing quadder found safe

UPDATE #2:The lost quadder has been found uninjured. The public is thanked for its help in finding him.

UPDATE: The search for Craig Drysdale will start up again in the morning. Anyone wishing to help is asked not to do so in the dark. Instead, they’re asked to check in with Search and Rescue at 8 a.m. While the assistance is appreciated, police stress that the search must be done in an organized manner.

A search and rescue operation is currently underway 25 kilometres southeast of Grande Prairie.

A group of friends was quadding off of the Canfor haul road, and when they got back to their vehicles, 28 year old Craig Paul Drysdale wasn’t with them. After searching for four to five hours, he was reported missing around 2 a.m. this morning.

Drysdale is considered an experienced quadder and avid hunter, who was wearing a helmet and was appropriately dressed for the weather. He does not have any known medical problems.

Technical Search and Rescue is out with Alberta ESRA and Rural RCMP, searching with helicopters, and his quad has been found. Anyone who might be out recreating or working in the area is asked to be on the lookout for someone who might look lost or disoriented.
